Greetings, Huerfano County 4-H members! There are a couple of really exciting activities coming up that you might be interested in. Here is a brief description of those events. If you are interested and need further information, feel free to call me at the office and I would be glad to help you.
- Citizenship Washington Focus. This is a trip to Washington, DC sponsored by the Colorado 4-H Foundation. You must be 15 years old, 4-H age, and you must currently be involved in a leadership position in your 4-H club. We previously stated that you had until March 1 to register for this event. However, we determined at the 4-H Council meeting Sunday that we need applications before that so we can determine who our delegate is and get them registered in 4-HOnline by the March 1 deadline. So, if you are interested in attending this awesome trip, you need to let us know that you are interested by next Monday, February 20. I know that is really short notice but we have to have that much time to select the delegate and get all of their paperwork completed by March 1. If there is more than one person interested we have to select the winner and we also have to make sure that the delegate meets all of the requirements to attend the conference.
- South Central District Retreat – This weekend-long camp will be held at Golden Bell Resort in Divide, Colorado on March 17 – 19. This is a really fun camp with lots of fun and exciting hands-on activities. District Retreat is open to any member who is at least 13 4-H age. There is a good chance that your trip will be paid for completely. All you have to do is get yourself registered through your 4-HOnline account by Feb. 28. Please consider attending and representing Huerfano County.
- Huerfano County 4-H Ambassador – Applications and rules are available now. Applications must be turned into the Extension Office by March 10. Here is your chance to represent Huerfano County 4-H and help promote the 4-H program.
Feel free to contact us at the office for more information about these events.
Thanks
